If it weren’t for excessive list making, Wild Imagination would be nothing but a daydream. We’re big believers in lists, the kind of people who make lists of the lists they have.
Lists, aside from being something to keep us busy, are also incredibly useful tools for the creative business owner. This week, we’ve whittled our list of lists down to six essentials we believe every creative business owner should have.
1. YOUR SHORT TERM GOALS.
For the week, for the month, for the rest of the year. Keeping a list of your short term goals somewhere prominent (ours is washi taped to our desktop screen), keeps them in your mind constantly. These should be measurable, and timed, so you have something to work towards every day.
2. YOUR LONG TERM GOALS.
Every action, every day, should serve your long term goals. Establishing your long term goals is imperative for keeping your business on track. Keep your goals just ambitious enough, to push you every day.
3. YOUR DREAM CLIENTS.
Picture the dream scenario of your business. Who are you serving? What’s the best possible client outcome? Give yourself something to aim for.
4. YOUR INSPIRATIONS.
Who inspires you? What inspires you? How do you rekindle that spark of inspiration when it’s lacking? Keeping a list of those you aspire to, or who get your creative juices flowing, is not only great for keeping you on track, but also comes in handy on those days where you’re feeling a little lost.
5. YOUR BUSINESS BUCKET LIST.
What are the crazy, ridiculous, once-in-a-lifetime things you want to achieve in your work life? The kind of things that you’d add to your greatest achievements list. Give yourself something to dream about.
